<p>Tip the fruit, butter, sugar and treacle into a bowl. Make the teabag into 150ml of strong tea with boiling water, then pour over the fruit mixture. Leave for 10 minutes or until cooled and the butter has melted.</p>

<p>Heat the oven to 150C/fan 130C/gas 2. Butter and line a 900g loaf tin. Mix the eggs into the cooled fruit mixture, then stir in the spices, a pinch of salt and the flour to make a smooth cake batter. Tip into the tin and bake for 1 hr 15- 1 hr 25 minutes, until an inserted skewer comes out clean. Leave to cool in the tin. Will keep in an airtight container for five days.</p>
